Ebooks Everywhere

Recently I’ve encountered a couple different projects/discussions about ebooks as a literary tool.

I’ve mentioned that Karen Syed at The Life of a Publisher advertised at the end of August that her publishing company, Echelon Press, is seeking ebook submissions ranging in length from 10,000 to 90,000 words.  You can read more about their guidelines at the Echelon Press submission page.

And Lynn Viehl at Paperback Writer has initiated a unique contest at her blogsite, the “E-Book Challenge,” encouraging writers to create their own “self-published” ebooks by Halloween.

Miss Snark discusses ebooks from time to time when the subject comes up among her readers.  Earlier this year she addressed the difference between publishing on the internet and ebooks in her post Novels on the Web.

Do you read ebooks, particularly literary ebooks?  Have you written any ebooks, or considered writing ebooks?  Why or why not?

If you decide to participate in either of the above ebook projects, be sure to let us know!
